Then this is the Early Achievers Orientation for you!
What is Early Achievers?
Early Achievers is Washington's new voluntary Quality Rating Improvement System for licensed Child Care programs. By participating your prograrm starts at level 1 and begins work toward level 2.
Why should I attend an orientation?
Child Care Resources has released the Orientation Schedule for King County. The intent is to train the directors of centers to participate in the program.
Participating Early childhood centers begin with an orientation, followed by trainings, and then conduct a number of programs and assessments of their programs before being evaluated and rated by the Early Achievers program. Ratings of 3, 4, and 5 stars come with cash awards provided by the Washington St. Race to the Top grant.
Concerned about compatibility with the Montessori philosophy?
The PNMA facilitated orientation is just for Montessori programs and will focus on issues specific to Montessori practices and will begin to determine how Montessori centers work with the Early Achievers rating system.
Who Should Attend?
This orientation is for King County Montessori schools. The presenter is the contact for Seattle schools. If you are in King County, but not in Seattle, you will also need to make contact with the CCR person in your geographic area, but you will not need to attend a new orientation.
The orientations are for school directors (the decision-makers at the school). You may have others from your school attend, but there will only be one information packet per school.
