MONTESSORI EDUCATORS For ALL Ages You Teach!

Attend a half day or full day of professional development in music.

Check in October 11 8:00-8:30 with refreshments

Join your colleagues from all levels of Montessori classes to build your music portfolio and bring more singing to your classroom experience every day. Our musical mentors, Allan Hirsch and Nancy Stewart have brought music to children and communities throughout the northwest, across the country and internationally.

9:00 - Noon Morning Session: 2 workshops [3 credits]

On this day you can choose one workshop with each musician in the morning:

Option 1; 2 sessions

  • Nancy Stewart - Sing Into Reading
  • Allan Hirsch - Musical Games & Movement
Option 2; 2 sessions
  • Allan Hirsch - Singing with Young Children
  • Nancy Stewart - Books that Sing

Noon - 3:00 Afternoon Session: Lunch and 1 workshop [2 credits]

Then choose to stay for an afternoon of Montessori lessons on the bells and rhythm and we will provide lunch.

Kelly Kunz will cover a progression of lessons on the bells and add Rhythm exercises that will keep you moving.

Explore the bells and their role in the classroom

Learn to implement bells in new activities

Expand into music fundamentals

Incorporate other pitched, one octave instruments

Practice movement with rhythm

Take away hands-on activity ideas for the classroom
