Description: Elementary Outings and Aftercare Assistant

Chaperone and support the growing independence of 6-11 year olds at our thriving AMI Montessori school. Work Monday -Friday, with hours ranging from 2:00pm-6:00pm for P/T and 9:00am-5:15pm; this position requires experience as a nanny, camp counselor or other child focused work as well as possession of a current driver's license. Interest in or experience using Montessori approaches is highly desirable. Our reimbursement packages are competitive and we strive to make our important work both joyful and meaningful. What your job will entail:

Responsibility for the care of 10 - 20 children during after school care

Cultivating a safe & respectful social environment

Scheduling and facilitating activities and outings like trips to museums, swimming lessons, or free outdoor play

Drive our school vans, take children on the bus, walk with them

Ensure that materials and spaces are well cared for

Plan and prepare daily snack

The ideal candidate will:

Has experience caring for Elementary age students

Has some Montessori knowledge or an interest in learning

Has a joyful or caring disposition and love of working with children

Has gentle but firm classroom/group management skills

Be an excellent communicator

Has the ability to interact with parents and co-workers in a warm, empathetic, confident manner

Has some flexibility with hours and scheduling

Be creative (you may have to come up with games or crafts on the spot)

Have experience leading children in outdoor games, gardening, skits, music, art or cooking
