We have 2 classes open Monday to Friday and our 10 month School year work cycle for 2021-2022 is August 21 to June 20 with breaks aligned to the Seattle Public Schools. Summer Session will be scheduled for July to mid-August. Most of our students attend a full day from 8:15-3:15 with early pick up on Wednesdays for teacher planning. Families are from several Seattle neighborhoods and value quality education and our caring staff.

Our teaching staff is diverse & each one brings varied skills and talents to our program. We value multi-facetted individuals who can contribute to the whole spectrum of early learning and to our small school community. Our school families are organized for classroom support and community events.

Discovery Montessori is a licensed child care facility participating in Early Achievers and supports teachers in accessing the benefits available to our staff including professional development and stipends. We are using our grant funds to hire and promote teachers. Our compensation scale is tied to education and experience and we prefer career teachers whose passion is the life long benefit of Montessori education.

We are using the Transparent Classroom digital records and communication tools with parents and provide time for tutorial training for all teachers.

All teachers have the option of also working during our 6 week summer session.

Our close community has a standard of caring and support for each person and values diversity and the personal-professional journey. Work-Life balance is manageable with our school day schedule.

Discovery is committed to a culturally and ethnically diverse workplace. Employment is not subject to discrimination based on race, religion, age, sex, or other personal matters of choice. The professional setting is maintained with mutual respect and open communication.
