–Assistant & Co-Teaching Positions Available
WHOLE CHILD LEARNING CENTER: WCLC is a reputable Montessori preschool serving a dynamic group of supportive families in the greater Seattle Community since 2000. Each day we have seventeen to twenty-three multi-age children, 2.5 to 5 years of age with five dynamic Educators - RATIO: 1-5, and three plus - classrooms. Our teaching team is energetic, supportive, and reliable, and we whole heartedly believe that working with children is our spiritual calling. We know that working with young children is rewarding and important work.
Assistant and Co-teaching positions available (20-35 hrs. a wk/m-f). It’s important to find a great fit, someone whose teaching philosophies and passions are similar to the schools. Wishing to build community which includes signing an annual contract, renewable each year. Twenty hrs. of training starting as early as April. School year is Sept-July (closed in August for vacations). Ongoing opportunity for growth, creativity, and collaboration with the Teaching Team of Educators at WCLC.

-Work in coordination with the Teaching Team to provide continuity and consistency to provide a high-quality preschool curriculum for children 2.5 to 5.5 years.
-Provide appropriate emotional and social support for each child's development.
-Build positive relationships with children, co-teachers, WCLC administration and the parents.
-Use positive guidance and discipline methods that strengthen each child's problem-solving and
conflict resolution skills.
-Awareness and experience of best practices for the preschool classroom.
Montessori Co-teaching position -Plan, implement and manage curriculum, as well as group circle activities, take shared role in curriculum development.
-This includes helping with goal development and milestone record keeping for the students each week.
-Participate in written assessment keeping where needed, photo taking for web-based portfolios.
-Help document and participate in the yearly Parent/Teacher conference where needed.
-Clean, organize and maintain the classroom and teaching materials.
Montessori Assistant -Work with Co-teachers to assist with children 2.5-5 years, help manage the classroom, materials, and cleaning/care of the environment.
-Sound working knowledge of child development ages 2.5-5 years.
-Excellent interpersonal communication skills with children, co-teachers, administration and family members.
-Proven initiative, accountability and attendance plus great follow through skills.
-Twenty credit/clock hours in early childhood education.
-Co-Teaching Position -Minimum of 3 years of professional preschool classroom teaching.
-Assistant Teaching Position -Minimum of 1 year of professional preschool classroom assisting.
-Both positions- An understanding & at least 1 year experience Montessori classroom teaching
-Strong experience designing dynamic curriculum for children ages 2.5-5 years of age.
-Must have leadership abilities, initiative skills to direct and co-manage with fellow teachers.
-Non-Native English speaker welcome
-BA, preferably in Education
-Three Professional references
-CPR/First Aid/BBP training

-$18-$25 hr. for Co-Teaching Position, DOE
-$16-$22 hr. for Assistant Position, DOE
-Monthly bonus for those working 30 plus hrs/wk. to help defray cost of personal health insurance.
