This PNMA Event will build the confidence you need to share Art and Music with your students.  Find new inspiration and learn new teaching techniques through keynote presentations and hands-on workshops.  You will walk away from this event with new songs, movement experiences, and art lessons to share with students of all ages!

Art with Julie Karlonas:
The best way to prepare yourself to share art with your students is to experience it yourself. Experience what your children will as they discover materials for the first time, or find new ways of using materials they are familiar with. There are not accidents in art only discoveries.

Julie will present on the philosophy and methods of “Sharing Art With Children in the Montessori Way”. You will learn to prepare yourself, prepare the environment, and provide your students with meaningful and developmentally appropriate creative experiences.  You will have the opportunity to take home many of your own three-dimensional art creations presented in the hands-on workshop.

You can learn more about the Julie’s art presentations, books & materials by visiting her website at http://www.art4montessori.com.

Music with Sarah Werner Andrews:
Montessori wrote that we don’t need a “miraculous aptitude for music,” in order to offer music to the children; “One might as well claim that it is the privilege only of genius to distinguish one color from another!” What we do need is an environment that will enable children to “grow into music” just as naturally as they “grow into language,” - and for us to grow right alongside them.

You are invited to discover - or rediscover - your passion for music in these engaging and interactive sessions with Sarah Werner Andrews. Sarah will share her lifelong love of music and experience with primary and elementary children as we explore singing, music appreciation, rhythm and dance, and help you connect the children more deeply to music, and enrich the musical life of your classroom.

WA Clock Hours or STARS/Merit Credits available for this event!  Event registration includes morning refreshments & lunch.
