Prepare and maintain a high quality Montessori classroom environment.
Plan, prepare, update and maintain all units of study – including Montessori materials, thematic units, library books, etc.
Ensure student progress in academic and cognitive development at a reasonable pace and are prepared for the next level with respect to individual student ability and needs
Schedule all guest presenters and organize all field trips.
Facilitate a classroom and whole-school environment reflective of Grace and Courtesy through lessons and personal conduct.
Communicate with parents as per school guidelines (class newsletters, email, etc.).
Prepare for and conduct formal communications with parents regarding individual student progress according to school guidelines (conferences, progress reports).
Schedule and work with other faculty for any joint Parent Nights, programs/performances, etc.
Observe and keep records on each student’s progress, challenges, and successes.
Maintain the school’s system of record keeping and progress reports.
Supervision of Classroom Assistants and Interns:
Establish a harmonious, supportive relationship with assistants and interns.
Participate in staff evaluation.
Report to the EC Director/Head of School any concerns.
Credential from the Association Montessori Society or diploma from Association Montessori Internationale/USA with a baccalaureate degree
Willingness to follow all guidelines, procedures and requirements in the Staff Handbook.
Meet all DEL requirements for employment (training, STARS Hours, First Aid/BBP, PBC, physical capacity, etc.)
